Pinnacle Venue Services has an exciting opening for the Director of Marketing at the new UMBC Event Center, located on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Opening in January 2018, the event center is a 172,000 square-foot multi-purpose venue with a seating capacity of 5,000+. The new event center will host UMBC NCAA athletic events including men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball, as well as provide a venue for a variety of events including concerts, featured speakers, commencement, and banquets.
The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring marketing plans and budgets, as well as designing and implementing creative collateral to promote the revenue generating areas of the UMBC Event Center. This position will manage, supervise and coordinate all the activities of the Marketing department to reach budget goals. This position is also responsible for maintaining relationships with media partners, overseeing the media buying and billing process, public relations, and promotions & publicity for the venue and the events.
Minimum of 3-5 years of marketing/advertising experience
Arena or venue marketing experience preferred
Skilled user of social media tools with a solid understanding of how to drive consumer engagement within online social networks
Graduate of an accredited four-year college
Proficient in use of MS Office applications
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and irregular hours
