The Temporary Marketing Assistant supports the Enrollment & Communications Manager in order to oversee and execute the significant breadth of social media efforts identified as necessary to the enrollment goals of the Office of Summer Programs.
The Temporary Marketing Assistant will oversee social media initiatives that are considered vital for the growth of the enrollment of Berklee Summer Programs. The annual enrollment of around 3,000 students comprises over 20 programs amassing over 4,000 applications. The efforts of the Temporary Marketing Assistant will complement the other considerable marketing efforts of the area and allow Summer Programs to actively recruit students for the school on social media where this cohort overwhelmingly interacts. It will encourage an alumni bond that is vital to recruitment for Berklee’s undergraduate programs and beyond. Berklee summer programs are vital to the college’s overall enrollment objectives and revenue goals. Around 30% of any entering fall class includes students who will have attended one or more summer program.
Under the broad supervision of the Enrollment & Communications Manager, the Temporary Marketing Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of social media and website content for summer programs. In addition, the position is responsible for supporting the Enrollment & Communications Manager in all market research facets, which includes social listening, focus groups, and online surveys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Berklee Summer Programs (@BerkleeSummer) presence on all Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat). Develop and execute the editorial calendar for social media publishing and/or site-side content;
Manages day-to-day social media tasks such as content scheduling, community management, and live social media coverage;
Supervise and mentor Multi-Media Assistants (1-2 students) to ensure that creative content makes sense for the brand and audiences;
Write, edit, and format new content on summer programs website pages;
Oversee Facebook Groups for registered students (1,183 active participants. 40% of all applicants);
Prepares routine social media and web analytics reports;
Work with over 20 program directors to distribute program-specific content through social media channels;
Provide marketing/content-gathering support during peak summer programs season;
Answer customer service inquiries via social media platforms from registered and prospective students.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Represent the department at College-wide Social Media meetings;
Represent the Office of Summer Programs at Events, fairs, etc.;
Support additional marketing efforts including, but not limited to focus groups, photoshoots, and outreach calls during the evening;
