Zippo Manufacturing Company, makers of the world famous Zippo windproof lighter, is seeking a proven and driven CPG research consultant to act as Insights Manager for its various brands including Zippo, W.R.Case and Sons Cutlery, and Ronson. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Innovation and manage all market research activities related to innovation and brand management.
•Manage research initiatives for all brands and product lines: -Create and execute research plans for each brand, in conjunction with brand managers, to support strategic direction -Optimize and manage innovation research efforts from concept testing through product validation and UX testing. -Vet and manage variety of qualitative and quantitative research suppliers
•Responsible for understanding the potential and limitations of the rich equities of Zippo and Case brands -Will be the go-to person for relevant insights related to a variety of opportunities and projects
•Work collaboratively with insights team and brand teams
•Analyze existing primary and secondary research, distill meaningful and actionable insights, and present insights to marketing and innovation teams as well as senior executives as appropriate.
•Support the research efforts of Zippo’s teams in Europe and China as needed.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing qualitative and quantitative research projects for CPG companies; additional experience as analyst and / or moderator a plus
•Client-side experience is required; preference given to candidates with additional supplier-side experience
•Experience in product, concept and pricing research
•Robust network of research suppliers capable of providing Zippo and W.R. Case with the breadth of options needed to meet a variety of needs
•Travel to Bradford Pennsylvania once per quarter to meet with teams in-person. Travel for qualitative as needed. Day-to-day interaction may be handled remotely. It is estimated that this position as a consultant will require 16-20 hours of work per week.
