The Assistant Director of Global Outreach, Marketing and Admissions oversees all aspects of communication, marketing, strategy, and planning for Tacoma Community College's international student recruitment. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of International Programs and is instrumental in the recruitment of prospective international students and identifying new international student growth initiatives to create a diverse global community within the institution. The Assistant Director should possess a great deal of passion and enthusiasm for networking, marketing and representing the college with the highest degree of integrity. This position requires significant international travel with the ability to be out of the country for several weeks at a time several times a year.
Recruit, unconditionally, students from all backgrounds, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic status, or gender, as well as through respectful interactions with other TCC representatives in compliance with TCC's Non-Discrimination Policy.
Develop annual strategic marketing plan and establish yearly travel proposal (in accordance with Washington State purchasing and travel guidelines) in order to advance the college's brand awareness and visibility overseas.
Submit detailed travel proposals, post trip reports, and complete travel reimbursement forms on a timely and highly detailed manner.
Actively promote long-term and short-term revenue generating programs of study with overseas partners.
Build and nurture relationships and partnerships: internally within the college community, and externally with professional colleagues, educational advisors, high schools, colleges, agents, and embassies to promote TCC's international programs and services.
Stay informed of international recruitment, admission and enrollment trends, strategies, and issues.
Improve the college's international brand awareness and presence via social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, etc.)
Utilize all applicable internal marketing resources to elevate the school's global brand recognition and increase the international student population and diversity.
Attend multiple events both domestic and overseas and respond in a timely manner to inquiries from students, staff and the public regarding international student services and programs.
Identify appropriate publications and advertisements and work with TCC's Marketing department and/or contracted designer to develop both electronic and hard copy marketing materials and manage budget and billing for promotions.
Create and maintain all necessary contracts, records, and department related databases.
Identify, screen and qualify prospective overseas agents to ensure that the institution is working with ethical trustworthy partners.
Mobilize current students to assist with recruitment and building an international alumni program to increase brand awareness internationally.
Maintain and update information on the TCC website as it relates to international marketing, recruitment and admissions.
Be actively involved in the college internationalization efforts and attend necessary meetings and events.
Work with the college's Grant Manager to identify student/faculty mobility grants and/or funding sources within the community.
Work directly with the Admissions Specialist to help problem solve admissions issues.
Coordinate commission payment structure and timeline with the Admissions Specialist.
Have basic knowledge of F-1 visa process and I-20 rules and regulations in accordance with SEVIS Immigration policies.
Has a strong track record of professional integrity and ethics.
Ability to function at a high level across multiple time zones and work irregular hours.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment
This is a full time exempt professional position contracted on an annual basis. The salary of this position is $55,000 - $62,500 annually DOE/DOQ. The salary will be prorated to reflect the actual number of contract days worked in the remainder of the year. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. This appointment requires overseas travel and includes occasional evening and weekend assignments. Degrees must be from accredited colleges or universities recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and verified by official transcripts.

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, Student Affairs, Education, Human Development, Student Personnel Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years experience in international business, higher education, student development, recruiting, or related field.
Working proficiency in a foreign language.
Ability to positively interact, engage, and work with diverse groups of students, staff, and from other colleges, organizations, and businesses.
Experience with international travel.
Knowledge in branding, marketing, and recruiting.
Computer literacy and experience with business management software.
Masters degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, Student Affairs, Education, Human Development, Student Personnel Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Fluency in a foreign language
Experience in strategic planning and marketing development.
Experience with campus internationalization initiatives.
Adobe Creative Cloud experience.
Conditions of Employment
Successfully complete a criminal history background check.
Extensive international travel and/or life experience.
Ability to work irregular hours including but not limited to: evenings, weekends, and to engage in international travel.
