The Digital and Direct Marketing team oversees the solicitation and stewardship of over 80% of VUMC donors. This team performs a central role in VUMC Developmentâs donor growth strategy. Goals are achieved through critical data analysis, thoughtful and strategic donor communications, and well integrated multichannel fundraising. This team collaborates across all VUMC development teams and with key partners in VUMC Strategic Marketing, VUMC News and Communications, and VUMC Human Resources.
The Associate Director of Direct Marketing is responsible for supporting and executing direct marketing strategies within the digital and direct marketing team in order to grow the donor base that supports VUMC mission. Under the supervision of the Director of Digital and Direct Marketing, the associate director creates and executes specific donor strategies supporting donor acquisition and retention for Vanderbilt University Medical Center including Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center and Monroe Carell Jr. Childrenâs Hospital at Vanderbilt. Projects deemed suitable for and consistent with direct marketing objectives will be assigned.
Under the supervision of the Director of Digital and Direct Marketing
Â·Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to help improve donor acquisition and retention. This will include overseeing the Medical Center donor society and other donor recognition and stewardship activities.
Â·Act as a member of a cross functional team of development and marketing professionals to ensure effective and appropriate integration of content, communications deliverables, and donor outreach.
Â·Participate actively in digital and direct marketing strategic planning.
Â·In collaboration with colleagues, create and execute an annual operating plan with responsibility for a set of tactics and goals.
Â·A bachelorâs degree and one year of relevant experience required, three years preferred.
Â·Creative thinking skills and ability to convert new ideas into actionable plans a must.
Â·Strong project management skills and ability to see the âbig pictureâ for how donor programs and stewardship advances the philanthropic relationship between annual donors and the Medical Center.
Â·Superb oral and written communication skills.
Â·Excellent customer-service skills with the ability to speak to donors at all levels.
Ability to maintain a productive and collaborative working relationship with partners across the Medical Center.
Experience working with complex data and segmentation.
Knowledge of digital platforms (peer-to-peer giving, website design, online giving forms, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
This is a full-time position.
Evening and weekend work as needed.
