The Event & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating events and continuing legal education seminars, as well as assisting in the marketing of those programs. Serves as key support for Committees and the Young Lawyers Section.
Responsibilities & Duties: Event Coordination 1.Assists or takes the lead in the planning and implementation of seminars (CLEs) and special events. 2.Creates and uses event checklists to ensure the event is implemented properly. 3.In coordination with the Executive Director and Marketing & Program Manager, works with Event, Section, and Committee Chairpersons to ensure that all event/function requests have been addressed. 4.Serves as back-up to Membership Coordinator for submitting and maintaining CLE applications to the Florida Bar. 5.Books venues and negotiate fees for off-site events and programs. 6.Hires auxiliary vendors as needed to fulfill event requirements. 7.Organizes and corresponds with speakers. 8.Handles RSVP's and registration for events: online and in person. 9.Processes credit card payments for events: online and in person. 10.Orders food for events and committee meetings. 11.Assists with or supervises the set up and break down of all necessary equipment and material at event location. 12.Coordinates with the Administrative Manager and other team members as appropriate to reconcile each event.
Marketing 13.In coordination with Marketing & Program Manager, responsible for marketing events, CLEs, and organizational programs via various media outlets, including but not limited to e-mail, social media, as well as traditional outlets. 14.Calendars events on the website. 15.Creates program books and flyers for various events and programs. 16.Assists in the acquisition of sponsorships for events and maintains event sponsorship files.
Requirements: Necessary Skills Minimum three years experience in events coordination and marketing. • This person will have good technology skills, including extensive knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. •Experience in utilizing email marketing tools, such as Constant Contact. •Good communication skills both written and verbal. •This person will have excellent social media skills, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, as well as any and all other platforms appropriate to market DCBA programs. •Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment. •Strong problem-solving capacity. •Meticulous attention to detail. •Strong organizational skills. •Graphic design skills a plus.
