Department: Glasscock School of Continuing Studies
The Director of Marketing and Communications leads marketing, communications, and public relations for the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies (GSCS). This entails collaborating with the Dean and the senior leadership team on short- and long-term strategic marketing planning, and directing the implementation of school-wide branding, marketing, and communication initiatives to promote the mission, educational programs, enrollments, and activities of the School. This position is a supervisory role responsible for recruiting, evaluating, managing, and developing of the staff.
The Director of Marketing and Communications is hands-on and includes management and direction of integrated marketing campaigns involving print and digital collateral. The director spends significant time with strategic planning, market research, data analysis, budget, and constant monitoring of the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, lead generation, and enrollment pathways. The director develops digital and social media strategy, provides direction for the Digital Marketing Manager, and should be very familiar with digital marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media capabilities and platforms.
The Director of Marketing and Communications serves as a primary liaison with the press, both within the University and through external sources, and manages public relations, external contracts, and consultants.
