MassBay Community College is seeking a dynamic leader who will lead the College’s marketing campaigns and communications. The successful candidate will create and implement a strategic marketing plan by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to increase the College’s outcomes in access and student success. In addition, the Director of Marketing and Communications will manage the institutional brand, enhance institutional visibility in the service area and state, and supervise media relations, publications, print, web, and social media. The Director of Marketing and Communications serves on the Executive Team, the Cabinet, and President’s Council.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive marketing and communication plans for the College to reach prospective traditional and non-traditional students;
Establish marketing department goals and initiatives that align with the College’s mission, vision, and strategic plan;
Coordinate all Marketing efforts with the College’s internal offices and programs and collaborate on project management, production, and public relations. This includes supervising the Marketing team on key publications including, but not limited to, admissions and development materials, annual report, Alumni magazine, electronic and print newsletters, Commencement materials, press releases, stationery, and promotional items;
Partner with Executive Team colleagues to support all departments and divisions across the College through marketing;
Manage the production of high quality, cost-effective marketing materials to achieve College goals;
Implement effective marketing and advertising strategies to strengthen market share, yield rates, and fundraising;
Apply market research and data analysis to effectively reach target prospective student markets;
Advise and support key offices in their internal and external communication efforts;
Create an effective web and social media presence that enhances community awareness and strengthens the institutional identity and image to improve the College’s ability to help prospective students attain their goals;
Provide marketing and communications that support outreach to establish effective relations with external audiences including businesses, government agencies, community-based organizations, and college supporters to promote MassBay;
Manage and maintain the College’s emergency notification system;
Serve as a member of the Clery and Public Safety (CAPS) committee;
Establish effective working relationships with local and national media outlets, print and broadcast media to proactively ensure that the MassBay ‘story’ is communicated accurately and effectively;
Supervise staff in the Marketing department and provide leadership in the development of the College’s website, marketing communications, public relations, publications, special events, and media;
Manage the department budget, marketing contracts, and relations with vendors or consultants to ensure overall effectiveness of the College;
Add content about special events;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $90,000 – $97,500

Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field;
A minimum of five years of experience in Marketing and Communications, including at least three years in a supervisory role;
Strong communications skills;
Experience using social media to promote an organization;
Strong leadership skills;
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing marketing strategies;
Ability to build/nurture a strong, diverse, and cohesive Marketing team;
Proven ability to think and act strategically;
Ability to work independently and as a team member;
Experience with managing a budget;
Experience using google analytics and other analytical tools;
Record of creativity and innovation.
Previous experience working in higher education.
