The Marketing and Membership Director supports the mission and vision of NABL through engaging and strengthening the membership, developing new products/services, overseeing the website, and building the NABL brand. The Director is responsible for the development (and execution) of NABL initiatives and programs that are aligned with the strategic plan. The Director manages the Database Manager and the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 10 years of professional marketing or communications experience.
Minimum 5 years of supervision experience.
Experience within a professional membership association.
Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, tactics and methods for showing, promoting, and selling events, products and/or services.
Advanced knowledge of digital communication best practices.
Advanced knowledge of membership recruitment and retention strategies.
Knowledge of budgeting principles, emerging technologies, and data and trends analysis.
Experience developing and managing all materials related to conferences and programs.
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite (InDesign), Informz (or other email/survey marketing services), and CrowdCompass (or other mobile app software) skills.
General design (digital marketing pieces, online publications, and website) experience.
Knowledge of relationship database management (iMis/Rise experience preferred).
Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
Proven ability to lead a small team and to develop strategies.
Ability to interact collaboratively and professionally with a small staff as well as external parties.
Ability to multi-task and manage and meet tight deadlines. (Delegate/manage internal and external resources to complete projects on time and on budget.)
Ability to take initiative.
Ability to travel 3-4 times per year.
Willingness to assist onsite at the annual conferences and programs.
