About: Since 1953, the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin has been the leading nonprofit trade organization dedicated to residential construction in Central Texas. With nearly 700 member firms, the HBA works with elected officials, local government staff, businesses, community organizations, and the general public to promote the practice and professionalism of the home building industry.
Summary: The Marketing Manager designs, creates and manages all collateral and communications, marketing items to support programs and activities of the association. The Marketing Manager supports the marketing and strategic communications plans to advance the Association positions and strategic priorities.
Creates all marketing and communications related to the association’s activities, affiliated entities including HomePAC and HomeAid Austin, events and education program, working with the Events & Education Manager and Public Affairs Director.
Prepares brochures, flyers and other association and affiliated entities benefits material as necessary.
Serves as the coordinator to the weekly association e-publication, HBA GroundBreaker. Coordination may include writing, obtaining and editing articles.
Assists in content creation and coordination of elements for the association’s annual membership directory.
Establishes budgets and guidelines for the printing of publications, collateral.
Creates media kit, manages editorial content, and coordinates production of Parade of Homes™ magazine.
Creates Annual association and affiliated entities marketing pieces including, but not limited to the Annual Report, and Annual Partner Guide, and regular production of the Marketing Guide.
Provides secondary staff support to the association’s Sales & Marketing Council and other committees as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Supports Events & Education Manager in executing programs and events associated with the Sales & Marketing Council including, but not limited to, the MAX Awards, the Crawfish Boil and the Million Dollar Club Awards events.
Implements and maintains a secure computer filing system for publications’ advertising, rate cards, introductory and follow-up approach letter, printing estimates, photographs, arts materials and correspondence.
Edits and approves any material created by staff or HBA members intended for broad or prominent association or affiliated entity usage.
Manages the content of the association and affiliated entities websites, keeping them accurate and up-to-date at all times.
Oversees and regularly updates the association’s social media accounts.
Develops and produces materials to promote the Phillips Event Center, as well as manages the content of the PEC website, keeping it accurate and up-to-date at all times.
Safeguards confidential information as it applies to the daily functions of the association and members.
Follows all policies and procedures as established by the HBA and suggests policy or procedure changes to the Executive Officer when appropriate.
Provides staff support to other committees as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Public Affairs Director or the Chief Executive Officer.
The Communications Director must follows all policies and standard operating and other procedures as established by the HBA, and may suggest policy or procedure changes to the CEO when appropriate.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or related field.
Experience: Two (2) or more years of design experience. Outstanding candidates will have previous success in fulfilling communications and marketing objectives.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines. Proven attention to detail, and excellent writing skills are a must. Experience in standard set of Office and design programs such as the Adobe Suite, as well as web design programs such as WordPress, Constant Contact, and social media platforms. Demonstrated ability to utilize emerging technology, write professionally, work independently, remain organized and respond quickly to changing organizational needs.
Additional Requirements: Candidate must possess Drivers’ license and means of transportation.
