Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a seasoned and strategic storyteller who is competitive and wants to help tell the great story of Lehigh Valley Health Network. This marketing executive will have a combination of creativity and grounded business savvy and seek to create a strategic marketing service for the health system.
The VP is responsible for providing the strategic and day-to-day leadership of Lehigh Valley Health Network’s brand management, public affairs, and communications (both internal and external). The vice president leads a team of marketers, brand managers, CRM experts, communicators, designers, and event experts.
Demonstrated capabilities to plan, implement and sustain effective brand management, marketing, public relations and communications programs. Extensive knowledge of market segmentation, market research and marketing to consumers required. Proven knowledge of all communication processes and their creative application in a complex health care environment. Superior written and math skills and ability to verbally articulate ideas in a concise, credible manner. Must be flexible and capable of presenting to Board members, physicians and other providers.
The new VP must:
Challenge the status quo and drive innovative thinking and the capability to successfully implement strategy. This executive will utilize data-driven analytical skills and creative entrepreneurial skills to accomplish the objectives.
Understand marketing as “strategic.” He/she will be highly creative but also will understand the analytics of market segmentation, strategic pricing, and consumer insight.
Be very extroverted in nature, highly visible, but also grounded in business concepts.
Must be an effective planner and budgeter.
Serve as a mentor and developer to the marketing and public affairs staff. He/she will help break down department silos, good at understanding the details of what is being done departmentally, and able to collectively develop strong marketing goals.
Be an able storyteller and help others within LVHN learn to be able to engage with others about the LVHN narrative. He/she will see that storytelling is an effective way to develop a deeper connection with an audience and a way that unites people and drives stronger, deeper connections. Because of media fragmentation, consumers are not just looking for different experiences but different delivery of messages.
Be high energy and enjoy the competitive nature of marketing.
