The Marketing Strategy, Senior Manager has the opportunity to help shape the future of Sephora’s marketing campaign strategy and annual marketing calendar. This position offers a birds-eye view of our multi-functional, omni-channel marketing team and helps ensure coordination against our strategic goals and key marketing levers that drive Sephora’s business. He/she/them/they will help identify, refine, and communicate our marketing priorities ensuring seasonal alignment across all channels including in-store, digital, and social.
Your position at Sephora:
Marketing Strategy and Calendar Alignment:
Lead annual, quarterly, and monthly planning process and meetings with senior executives to define and align Sephora’s marketing priorities
Leverage quantitative/qualitative research and analysis to answer key business questions around the organization and deliver a compelling customer focused story
Contribute to the total effectiveness of the department, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member
Develop key presentations such as brand health reports and annual marketing strategy and own cross functional communication
Own the Sephora marketing calendar and tools. This includes owning inputs, accuracy, and tool/calendar oversite.
Annual Strategic Planning Process Management:
Own analyses, business cases, and storytelling for key strategic opportunity areas.
Partner with leadership on content development and cross-functional partners on business case development.
Trend and Competitive Analysis:
Stay abreast of and communicate to team marketing and retail industry trends, technology developments and emerging business models relevant to Sephora’s future.
Continually benchmark Sephora against retail and marketing leaders.
Support key organizational activities.
Coordinate and plan efforts for key organizational processes, meetings and milestones (e.g. All Hands meetings, facilitating offsites, etc.
We’re excited about you if you have/are:
6+ years of experience in consumer marketing or marketing strategy
Profile is likely someone who has a blend of hands-on marketing experience and consulting or strategy training
Experience in retail
MBA is preferred but not required
Self-starter who can manage through ambiguity
Excel skills are mandatory; strong detail orientation is essential
Fluent in telling business stories through PowerPoint
Note: This is role is a marketing strategy position; while corporate strategy would be a relevant complement to a candidate’s experience, we’re looking for candidates who are grounded in consumer-facing marketing
