IOWA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications
Iowa Wesleyan University is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications to begin immediately. This is a full-time, exempt position working closely with the Athletic Director, and our Marketing department.
The Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Marketing will lead the day-to-day communications and marketing for the athletic department and each of its 18 NCAA Division III athletic teams, under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director. Other responsibilities such as compliance officer may be added to the responsibilities based on candidate skill set.
Responsibilities include: •Sports Information Duties for all programs including social media, in-game stat tracking, video broadcast coordination, print media, and media relations •Serve as NCAA Compliance Officer for the athletic department •Coordinate the daily maintenance of the athletics website content including student-athlete and coach biographies, rosters, statistics, schedules, and press releases •Direct oversight over a graduate assistant and work-study students •Assist in game day management for home athletic events •Serve as the liaison with local media outlets to coordinate coverage of Iowa Wesleyan athletic events •Attend marketing team meetings and assist with the needs of the marketing department as needed •Work closely with the marketing department to promote stories of the athletic department through digital and social media platforms •Serve on the athletics leadership team to assist in executing the mission of the university and the athletic department •Aid in implementing a communication strategy directed at various groups including, alumni, community, current students, and prospective students •Other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics, the Vice President for Enrollment Management, and/or the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives
Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Sports Management, or a related field. •Master’s Degree preferred •Minimum of 3 years in athletic communications. •Experience in creative media, including photography and videography, a plus •Experience with statistical programs such as StatCrew or PrestoSports, a plus
