International School of Brooklyn seeks a full time External Communications and Marketing Manager to begin August 19, 2019.

International School of Brooklyn (ISB) is an independent, non-profit school that is known for its innovative and robust Nursery–8th Grade French and Spanish language immersion program and International Baccalaureate curriculum. The External Communications and Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Operations and Advancement and is responsible for managing the external communications and marketing efforts of the school. The External Communications and Marketing Manager works with all constituents - students, parents and staff in support of International School of Brooklyn’s mission.
Devise, propose, and implement a comprehensive and thoughtful marketing plan, strategically allocating time and advertising budget in response to strategic priorities.
Use a data-driven approach to evaluate the relative success of marketing efforts, making adjustments to maximize resource effectiveness.
Place orders for digital and print ads, manage production and submission of associated artwork.
Participate in an interdepartmental Marketing Team, collaborating to achieve cohesive internal and external marketing.
Keep current school information on review sites and identify outreach opportunities.
Keep abreast of current marketing trends and use these insights to evaluate and propose adjustments to ISB’s strategy.
Manage ongoing projects, including the design and production of external branding for the campus, and targeted marketing campaigns and participate in decisions for new features on ISB website.
Work as a core member of Advancement Team on strategy around school communications and timelines.
Align communications with strategic objectives by periodically drafting and editing official correspondence, speeches, reports, and marketing materials.
Strengthen the school’s brand by working with the Advancement team to ensure mission-consistent institutional voice and visual identity across all digital channels, printed materials, and communications.
Manage the content and engagement on school’s social media platforms
Participate in crisis communications planning
Work with outside professionals as directed by the Director of Advancement to achieve communications and marketing goals.
Maintain, order, and disseminate as appropriate ISB branded materials, including digital resources (style guide, brand fonts, logos, letterhead) and printed materials (pens, stationary, business cards, etc.).
Oversee the inventory and ordering of ISB branded apparel for sale and for staff use.
Edit and proofread digital and print communications.
Serve as primary author on fundraising emails and appeal letters.
Produce ISB’s Annual Report of Gifts, pledge cards, banners, posters, and other printed materials to support fundraising efforts.
Serve as a core member of the Crisis Management Team and School Safety Team.
Contribute to the school’s Emergency Operations Plan
Maintain and provide training on the school’s emergency communications plan and systems.
Write and maintain email templates for common emergencies.
Participate in planning and executing Advancement Office events.
Attend/work evening /weekend school events as necessary.
Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Operations and Advancement and the Head of School
Support the School, its mission and its leadership
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop.
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and respond to changing priorities.
Strong attention to detail.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Strong editing skills.
Ability to communicate in French or Spanish a plus.
Enthusiasm, flexibility, ability to work collaboratively on a team, a great sense of humor, and grace under pressure.
Experience with HTML and Veracross or other database system preferred.
