An integral member of the Texas A&M University-San Antonioâ™s Marketing and Communications team, the Marketing Communications Manager (Account Executive) leads the integrated marketing and communications strategies for key university client. The successful candidate develops, implements and monitors the success of marketing and communications strategies to engage various audiences (external and internal). Critical to the success of this position is experience in planning and successful project management, integrated marketing communications, persuasive content development to enhance the universityâ™s reputation, enrollment, advancement and institutional priorities, as well as working in collaboration with university leadership, directors and faculty to impact the universityâ™s diverse audiences.
Typically works Monday- Friday, 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Will include work beyond normal office hours to include evening, weekends, and peak times.
Serves as the marketing communications lead for the development and implementation from conception through production and implementation supporting a portfolio of University clients
Serves as strategist to develop a variety of content, advertising, promotional communications to support institutional and unit priorities
Develops and executes integrated marketing and communications plans in support of institutional goals, priorities, initiatives and new product launches
Manages productive working relationships with creative staff, university and contracted vendors, to help ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Develops and updates content on advancement websites including stories of impact, news of significant gifts and milestones, and other messages that reinforce campaign priorities and the A&M-San Antonio brand and advancement priorities
Prepares and coordinates digital communications and direct mail, including segmented messages to specific individuals/groups of individuals such as monthly/quarterly newsletters, updates and donor communications for advancement functions
Support the institutions brand platform through messaging, design, content and strategies
Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelorâ™s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field
At least five years of experience working in integrated marketing and communications
Demonstrable experience managing multi-platform integrated marketing and communications message development and distribution
Demonstrated experience in project management, working with creative teams; and ability to conceptualize, develop and produce content for a variety of communications channels including analysis and reporting to strengthen organizational brand and reputation
Demonstrated experience in setting, monitoring and assessing data to align with goals
Proficient in Associated Press style writing and editing, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Superior spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments independently, with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team toward organizational objectives
Evidence of superior oral and written communication skills
Evidence of success working effectively with diverse constituencies and in a team environment
Communications and marketing experience in the context of an integrated marketing and communications environment
Higher education or not-for profit experience preferred
Fundraising campaign experience preferre
