UMBC seeks an experienced marketing professional with the skills and interest to build a strong, branded integrated presence for UMBC’s graduate, research, and international education enterprise. The Marketing & Communications Director for Graduate/Research/International will guide strategy and execution of marketing plans and campaigns in support of the University’s goals to grow enrollment of graduate and international students.
Collaboration and partnerships are core values of UMBC’s culture, and you will work closely with colleagues in design, communications, graduate education, international education, research, and marketing.
Responsibilities include comprehensive campaign development with quantifiable strategies and tactics that are brand- and data-driven, well-integrated, and aligned with marketing objectives.
You’ll create compelling messaging about advantages, benefits, and proof points to establish UMBC as the student’s best choice. This will be informed by your solid understanding of market needs and competitive schools and programs in targeted recruiting markets. You’ll develop and track metrics to evaluate and recommend communications channels, and perform or procure market research as needed.
This new position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Creative Services in UMBC’s Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA). Required Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and five years of marketing experience, including a focus on enrollment marketing.
The ideal candidate will have advanced working knowledge and experience in digital marketing, content marketing, social media, email management, and web analytics, and demonstrated success in enrollment strategy, leadership, and an understanding of brand and style guidelines.
A background in higher education marketing; experience recruiting professionals and/or adults, career changers/enhancers, and/or international students; and familiarity or experience with CRMs are preferred.
Experience in traditional media buying is also an asset.
