A member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Colonial Athletic Asosciation, Eastern Athletics supports and promotes the endeavors of more than 425 student-athletes across 18 sports.
The Marketing Coordinator position will assist with efforts to implement marketing strategies that increase attendance and fan engagement at athletic events. Focusing on the sports of Men's Basketball and Volleyball while assisting with Football, this position will aim to bring program visibility and awareness, energy, excitement, and school spirit, to Eastern Athletics events.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all marketing, fan engagement and game production for assigned sports of Men’s Basketball and Volleyball
Create detailed marketing plans to outline and fulfill season objectives
Coordinate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing to plan, develop and execute athletics marketing campaigns for student attendance and engagement.
Act as primary on-field marketing coordinator for all Eastern Michigan University Football games
Assist with student music/band, and spirit squads (cheer and dance teams and mascot) as needed.
Assist with administration of the Eagles Kids Club.
Use Adobe Creative Cloud to create in-venue and social media content that enhances the Eastern Athletics brand
Participate in weekly athletics marketing and athletics operations meetings.
Promote athletic programs through involvement with student organizations and related activities.
Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
Perform related duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, Business or a related field, is required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills, high energy and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community are required.
2 years of working experience within an NCAA Division I or II athletics program is preferred.
Understanding and working ability with Adobe Creative suite.
Knowledge of Mid-American Conference and NCAA policies is preferred.
Work is performed under multiple conditions, from a typical office environment to outdoor athletics facilities. This position will be required to work beyond normal office hours, such as weekends, evenings and holidays.
