The primary responsibility of the Manager, Group Marketing is to provide marketing support for critical initiatives in the Groups and Meetings segment. This position will ensure there is a consistent and focused marketing effort to elevate The Palm Beaches’ stature within the Groups and Meetings segment. The Manager, Groups Marketing will report to the AVP, Integrated Marketing and collaborate with functional areas within the marketing team and with the Groups Sales Team to ensure timely and customer-centric deployment of marketing deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a deep understanding of trends in the group and meetings travel category. Especially as they impact booking and sales into the destination.
Leverage the DTPB Meetings Brand Voice in all appropriate marketing material and content.
Maintain a thorough understanding of all deliverables related to the Groups and Meetings team in fulfillment of trade related needs.
Ensure timely execution of all requirements related to Strategic Partnerships (major industry associations and third-party entities); support ongoing progress of action items contained within each agreement.
Lead Marketing / Group Sales Priority meetings; support ongoing traction on mutually defined initiatives; act as a central liaison to ensure teams are staying ahead of key deliverables.
Attend Weekly Groups Sales Meetings and provide input to support ongoing traction of key priorities. Ensure Marketing team receives feedback on important initiatives.
Build collaborative internal relationships within the organization to ensure the team is delivering on Groups needs and operating in an effective and efficient manner.
Assist development of new group marketing campaign. Work directly with internal and external team members and agency partners.
Provide project management support as needed for various Group Sales projects.
Review and provide insight in the Groups and Meetings competitive destination landscape.
Attend key Group Sales related conferences, meetings, events, destination reviews and sales calls to improve awareness of fundamental issues with Groups.
Build relationships with community stakeholders (i.e. Palm Beach County Convention Center, hotels, etc.).
Maintain an effective understanding of the DTPB Customer Advisory Board priorities; Ensure action items are prioritized appropriately within the Marketing team.
Partner with specific internal team members (Marketing, Advertising, PR, Content, Digital, Email, Social Media, etc.) to ensure timelines are met and content is aligned across all verticals.
Assist in development of the Groups Media Strategy.
Perform regular audits of customer-facing platforms (sales and tradeshow material, PowerPoints, website, email, collateral and talking points) to support the necessary changes / feedback to improve performance; present new ideas to improve visibility and ROI.
Leverage Business Intelligence (i.e. industry reports) to support decisions; understand key trends within the industry.
Support activities / actions which can contribute to DTPB elevating its messaging to defined industry clusters (i.e. Financial).
Maintain a thorough understanding of critical changes within our community relating to hotel capacity and meeting space.
Support and provide ongoing insight to Crisis Communication Plans.
Ensure the Group marketing toolkit is updated with the most relevant information.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be results-oriented, self-directed, marketing and technology- savvy and well organized; will have the ability to establish and shift priorities in a dynamic environment and possess at a minimum, the following qualifications:
BA (4-year degree) in business, marketing, hospitality at a minimum
Strong experience in Groups and Meetings Industry, marketing, sales or related experience required
Additional experience in travel, tourism and hospitality industry is preferred
Working knowledge of project management is desired
Ability to coordinate multiple projects in various channels of distribution
Ability to set up process and standard operating procedures
Awareness and understanding of destination promotion and the domestic travel, tourism and hospitality industries
Extensive experience with latest suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to multi-task at various stages within the organization
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and the ability to motivate teams
Must demonstrate a positive and flexible attitude
