Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEManage University client relationships required to effectively coordinate the planning and implementation of marketing and communication initiatives for the Office of Marketing and Communication. Create high-quality, well-branded and effective initiatives designed to improve WSU's image and recruit new students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCultivate relationships at all levels (i.e., vice presidents, deans, directors and their staff) within assigned office/department to provide leadership and a marketing and communication source from inside the University which is price and quality competitive. Serve as a key liaison with the Office of Marketing and assigned school/college/departments to identify marketing opportunities and key messages for all promotional materials and events. Serve as the university's licensing manager partnering with the licensing management vendor and book store to increase the variety and accessibility of WSU branded merchandise. Develop and manage university pride building initiatives (e.g. Warrior Wednesdays) to increase awareness of WSU and grow sales of WSU branded merchandise. Manage the WSU Insiders program including developing program strategies, engaging community members and implementing events. Manage website content and develop recommendations for new engagement opportunities for assigned school/college/department. Analyze program effectiveness through Google analytics, email engagements, event attendance and salesforce tools to provide data driven recommendations for process and program improvements. Work with the University editorial, web, CRM and print production staff to ensure production of high quality marketing initiatives that meet objectives. Manage production budgets ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget. Provides functional supervision to work study, temporary employee and/or student assistant positions.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONBachelor's degree Marketing or in a related field; Master's degree in Marketing or Communications preferred.EXPERIENCE4+ years experience in marketing and communications role (within higher education or advertising agency preferred). Marketing management and strategic planning experience including a proven track record in developing and administering a marketing/communications program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESBUSINESS ACUMEN - Understands mission and objectives of the University and Marketing and Communication division. COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Must possess top level business management, interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills. Strong leadership and consensus building skills. ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP - Proven ability to make decisions and execute plan; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with stakeholders at all levels in the organization; Must have proven ability to work and lead a variety of people and situations. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - Must work effectively with others. Must have proven ability to work and lead a variety of people and situations. PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, often under tight deadlines. COMPUTER - Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications.
