Houghton College invites applications for a full-time joint appointment in the Department of Communication and the Department of Business and Economics at the assistant or associate level starting in August 2020. This position involves teaching 24-25 credit hours per academic year in the area of Integrated Marketing Communication (marketing, advertising, public relations, and business communication), with the possibility of teaching other business-related courses. A majority of the teaching load will be for undergraduate courses, with potential for graduate-level course assignments. Qualified candidates may be invited (with a reduced teaching load) to chair the Business & Economics Department and serve as Director of the MBA program.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will participate in departmental meetings and activities, contribute to curriculum assessment and development, and share in academic advising of students in each department.
An MA or MBA with a specialization in Marketing, Advertising or Public Relations and relevant professional experience is required. A PhD or DBA with a concentration in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or a closely related field is preferred.

Experience in online instructional delivery

Also required is ability to help students form respectful attitudes and interactions with people who differ in abilities, attitudes, and cultural experience, with sensitivity to factors that affect our own assessment of others.
Other important qualities for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, and an ability to integrate Christian faith into their teaching.
