The Director of Education & Marketing will oversee a broad spectrum of activities as may be related to the educational programming and creative marketing strategies for the association. The primary focus of this position will be to manage and design compelling educational content, and provide creative direction and branding for events and other activities of the association. The Director will also manage and develop all ALFN member committees, including two professional development groups.
This is a staff position with no direct reports, that reports directly to the President & CEO. ALFN is a small staff, non-profit trade association, so from time-to-time the Director will be required to assist with duties outside of this job description.
Events & Educational Programs
Recommends strategy changes to increase effectiveness of content and resources for events and educational programming
Manages event speakers and development of presentations and materials
Works with members and staff to create educational content and delivery methods to achieve set goals
Develops and manages any required script writing for events
Develops content and branding for online and print resources
Works with CLE provider to manage CLE credit programming for attorneys
Recommends creative strategies for events, including concepts for increased engagement and sponsorship support
Manages all aspects of the ALFN’s webinar programs and speaker coordination
Develops webinar training content through member and committee submissions
Marketing, Publications & Communications
Manages all publications of the ALFN, including content submissions, design concepts with graphic designer, editing and proofing
Develops and executes marketing and branding strategies
Designs marketing materials and communications with the SVP around membership driven initiatives
Coordinates with other staff and develops online, email and print marketing promotions and branding in alignment with strategic goals and association initiatives. Provides content and design, and coordinates with other staff content-providers
Develops, monitors, and maintains all social communication tools and content among ALFN’s social media channels
Manages all member committees
Oversees the activities, programming and content for all committees pursuant to the goals of each committee
Acts as a resource for committee leadership and members
Follows board and CEO approved guidelines for all committees and participates in goal setting
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience
Experience in developing and managing educational programming and content development, with additional emphasis around designing creative marketing strategies, communications and branding to meet strategic objectives
Strategic, out-of-the-box thinker with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Must have experience that demonstrates strategic, creative, and analytical thinking.
Experience in developing and executing various marketing strategies and social media
Working knowledge of Adobe graphic design software, and ability to do graphic design work, a plus
Copy writing and editing experience
Past work experience for non-profit associations, or other relevant experience with associations a plus. Emphasis on background with trade associations for licensed professionals.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
