Louisiana State University Athletics Department invites applications for the position of Marketing Graduate Assistant. These positions will assist five full time staff members in the coordination and execution of all varsity sporting contests and other various special events.
LSU Athletics requires all employees to adhere to NCAA, Southeastern Conference and Louisiana State University compliance rules.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Overseeing a minimum of two (2) sports, planning and implementing marketing plans, creating scripts for assigned sports, enhancing the fan experience at events, assisting with organizing special events, increasing brand awareness and engaging with campus organizations and the local community.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management, Recreation Management, Communication or other related degree with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
Admission into a Louisiana State University Graduate School program
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher) and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite as well as basic graphic design capabilities and understanding
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
Previous work experience in professional or collegiate athletics.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work office hours during the week as well as nights, weekends and some holidays is required.
Must be able to walk up and down stairs and stand in one place for long periods of time in variable weather conditions.
Must possess the ability to lift and move items up to approximately 50lbs
Anticipated start date is July 13, 2020. Position will receive a tuition stipend equivalent to in-state tuition and semester stipend. The Graduate Assistantship is a two-year appointment, renewable after the first year at the discretion of the athletic department based on performance as well as meeting the obilgatory academic requirements.
