Social Media, Marketing, Promotions and Membership Engagement Director Job Purpose:
Combines marketing and social media management skills to architect and enhance organization social media presences, including interacting with customers, promoting brand-focused interactive and engaging content, and expanding opportunities for revenue. Works with social media committee members to create innovative social media campaigns and marketing initiatives. Develops all marketing and promotional materials for the Association of Aquatic Professionals and works to increase membership in AOAP and encourage renewals.
Social Media Marketing, Promotions and Membership Engagement Director Job Duties:
Creates marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including advertising, product development, and brand management
Provides training and guidance to social media and marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies
Collects customer data and analyses interactions and visits, plus uses this information to create comprehensive reports and improve future marketing strategies and campaigns
Reports progress to Executive Director/CEO
Grows and expands company social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increases presence on existing platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram, etc
Researches and monitors activity of association competitors
Creates and distributes engaging written or graphic content in the form of e-newsletters, web page and blog content, or social media messages
Creates the AOAP Weekly newsletter and finds engaging content and unique content
Solicits advertisers for the AOAP Website and the AOAP Weekly newsletter
Develops the AOAP Annual Conference & Exposition booklet, mobile guidebook application, and any and all marketing materials needed
Required to attend the Annual AOAP Conference & Exposition and assists as needed to ensure a smooth conference and exposition (expenses covered by AOAP)
Membership engagement assisting with growing membership and evaluating non-renewals, etc
All other duties as assigned
Social Media Marketing, Promotions and Membership Engagement Director Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Communications or Marketing or related field, One to Two Years of Experience with Social Media Management, Marketing Experience, Content Creation, Copywriting, Graphic Design, Web Design and Strategy, Data Collection and Analysis, Technology Skills, Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills, Attention to Detail, Self-Motivated, Creative Problem-Solving Skills, Experience with Major Social Media Platforms. Grant writing and sponsorship experience is a must. Experience in planning and running conferences is a plus as well as a background in working at aquatics venues.
This is a halftime (50% FTE – total number of 1,120 hours per year to begin with), contractual, telework position to begin by January 1, 2021, with the option for a phase-in period to begin as soon as possible. Average of 10-20 hours/week with more hours required prior to, during and immediately after the annual conference.
Telecommuting is allowed.

About Association of Aquatic Professionals
The Association of Aquatic Professionals is a domestic 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation and is run by an all volunteer Board of Directors and a full-time Executive Director/CEO that exclusively promotes and advocates policies, practices and procedures that contribute to safer and improved aquatic education, aquatic recreation activities, programs, and facilities; provides and supports quality aquatic education opportunities; coordinates and conducts research in the field of aquatic management and safety; promotes coordination and cooperation between established aquatic associations responsible for all aspects of aquatic programming, aquatic management, aquatic operation and maintenance and aquatic facility design. As well as providing an annual conference and educational workshops for communities on drowning prevention and education. A portion of all proceeds will be used towards drowning prevention, i.e. for Learn to Swim Program Lessons and Grants for Life Jackets.

To promote interrelationships and networking between aquatic personnel.
To enhance and improve the health, well-being and leisure time needs of participants in aquatic related programs.
To encourage the advancement of sound administrative practice in aquatics.
To work with colleges, universities, professional schools and professional groups in the development of curricula designed to prepare students for the field of aquatics.
To work or consult with committees, agencies and governments in establishing service, programs and facilities for aquatic-related leisure time activities with whom these organizations may be involved.
To act as a resource to those companies who provide products and services relating to design, construction, operation, and renovation of aquatic facilities.
